01 / SELECTED WORK
From concept to a working system.
Engineering
in practice.
A selection of projects from my Mechanical Engineering degree. Each brought a different challenge in analysis, design and collaboration.
01Marble sorting machine
Turning requirements into a working mechanical system.
Marble sorting machine
Turning requirements into a working mechanical system.
The challenge
Design and build a marble sorting machine that meets the client's requirements.
My contribution
I contributed to the analysis and plan of approach, developed the design in SolidWorks, and worked on the technical documentation, production and assembly plans. I also helped coordinate production and adapt the assembly process when problems arose.
The result
The team delivered a functioning machine on time. The plan of approach was awarded a 7.8.
02Solar pump
Connecting a client's needs with technical possibilities.
Solar pump
Connecting a client's needs with technical possibilities.
The challenge
Develop a pump concept that meets the project requirements and provide a well-supported recommendation.
My contribution
I developed the concept in SolidWorks, incorporated client feedback, and used a literature study to support the technical advice.
What I learned
Revising a design is part of the process. This project strengthened my ability to work with feedback and translate research into advice that fits the client's needs.

Balancing engineering, sustainability and economic feasibility.
Sustainable dairy factory
Balancing engineering, sustainability and economic feasibility.
The challenge
Translate open-ended client wishes into requirements and a feasible, sustainable design.
My contribution
I investigated sustainability considerations, developed and evaluated concepts, and discussed technical and economic feasibility with stakeholders and experts.
What I learned
A strong design goes beyond its technical performance. Understanding the client's needs, handling uncertainty and explaining the reasoning behind a solution are equally valuable.

A curious mind.
A practical
approach.
I'm Max, a Mechanical Engineering graduate with an interest in understanding systems and turning ideas into workable designs.
I started my degree in 2020. Along the way, I worked on projects covering mechanical design, production, energy systems and sustainability. This portfolio brings together that work and the lessons behind it.
Away from engineering, I enjoy photography, scouting, and playing video games with friends.
